How can I submit a speaker or breakout session recommendation?

Speakers and breakout sessions are curated by our team, but we occasionally accept outside submissions.

Main stage speaker suggestions can be sent to with a brief bio, topic idea, links to past talks, and anything else that you think would be helpful for us to know. All 99U main stage talks are original: we do not accept submissions of talks that have already been given at other events.

Breakout session suggestions can be sent to with a session abstract, details on the host organization/presenter(s), and anything else that you think would be helpful for us to know.

We review submissions on a rolling basis and finalize our lineup by January of each year. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we cannot respond to all submissions.

How can my company partner with 99U?

99U partners with like-minded creative organizations in a variety of ways, including interactive installations and attendee giveaways. All of our partnerships are custom-built and created to enhance the attendee experience.

How long do I have to register a badge?

Attendee badges are available on a first-come, first-served basis as soon as they go on sale. We recommend that you purchase your ticket immediately, as we are unable to hold or reserve badges.

Is there a group or educator discount?

We endeavor to keep badge prices as low as possible for all attendees (and much lower than the price of other multiday creativity conferences), so we don't offer special discounts beyond earlybird pricing and our annual pre-sale for conference alums.

Can I cancel my order?

All cancellations are subject to a $150 cancellation fee for each ticket until March 1, 2019. To request a cancellation, please email our team at

After that date, we cannot accommodate cancellations and no refunds or exceptions will be made. If you're unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, we welcome you to transfer your ticket to a colleague or friend, which you can do at no fee until April 12, 2019.

Can I transfer my badge to someone else?

You can transfer your ticket to another individual free of charge until April 12, 2019 by reaching out to After April 12, each ticket transfer will be subjected to a fee of $99. Please note that:

- Transfer requests MUST be sent by the original purchaser of the badge, or the person whose name under which the badge was registered.

- Transfer requests MUST include the original order confirmation.

- 99U cannot find a transferee for you, nor handle any exchange of funds.

- Shared registrations (such as splitting days between two people for one ticket) are not permitted.

- No transfers are permitted once a conference badge has been picked up at the event.

Are there volunteer opportunities at 99U?

Want to become a part of 99U on the ground? Each year, we welcome friendly, fantastic volunteers to help us make the conference happen. Let’s be clear: this is not just a way to get a free ticket; you’ll be working hard! But you'll also be learning how a top-of-the-line creative event comes together, and have the opportunity to be a part of our incredible production team.

Can I connect with people attending the conference before the official event?

Yes! If you'd like to meet or chat with some of the people attending the 99U Conference, you can join our 2019 99U Conference Slack group. Instructions on accessing the Slack group will be provided with your badge order confirmation. Joining the group is completely optional, and not every 99U Conference attendee will be present in this group. 

I'll be traveling to NYC for 99U. Is there a hotel you recommend?

The Ace Hotel New York is our official hospitality partner for the 99U Conference. A preferred rate is available to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Details can be found in your order confirmation.

Are venues accessible for disabled attendees?

Yes, all official 99U event venues are ADA compliant. We want all of our attendees to get the most out of 99U: if you have any specific accessibility needs or concerns, or ideas to make the conference more inclusive, don't hesitate to reach out to us at

Will there be a translation service available?

Due to the scope of the conference, we are unable to offer language translation services.

Can I bring a guest to the parties?

Because of limited capacities, we are unable to offer guest tickets to 99U evening events. We like to think we have the friendliest audience out there, so don't be shy: you might meet your next client or collaborator at a 99U party!
